We are delighted to report that this year’s village show was our most successful yet, helped by some wonderful weather and fantastic support from the local community.
There were 40 stallholders, along with a huge variety of entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy. Children were kept busy with games, circus skills, Punch and Judy, bouncy castles and archery. The show ring was packed throughout the day with a full programme of events, including dog training and much more.
Two marquees were filled with attractions, including the popular vegetable competitions, produce and creative arts. Another marquee featured a wide range of villagers’ stalls, while continuous live music provided a great atmosphere throughout the day. The bar was also extremely busy and much appreciated by visitors.
Food was available all day, with something for everyone, including breakfast baps, burgers, cakes, sandwiches, crisps and more. A particular highlight was the huge model railway display, which attracted plenty of interest from visitors of all ages.
A very special thank you goes to our hardworking committee members and to the at least 75 villagers who volunteered their time. Without their enthusiasm, generosity and commitment, this event simply would not take place.
The funds raised are vital in supporting a number of important village organisations and activities, including St Nicholas Church, the Scouts, Guides, defibrillator training, the Cricket Club and the Village Hall.
