PEOPLETON PLAY PARK

On the 13th April 2021 the new village Play Park opened to the residents of Peopleton. The development of the play park will go down as one to remember, the work was carried out during the 2020/21 Coronavirus Pandemic and opened a year after work was started. An amazing feat by a dedicated team of volunteers and workers.

Then new play park was designed to appeal to kids of most ages and be a place to come to and chill out, play and socialise.

The new activities were built around a mound designed to be like a Gecko and include two new slides, two tunnels, two climbing nets one of which is vertical, balance beams and activities for toddlers, plus a Zip wire! The original Spider climbing fame was kept and refurbished as was the timber climbing frame and net and Wendy house.

A lot of new hedging and trees were also planted, along with mown paths and a maze (which will of course take time to establish). Bird boxes and bug hotels were also installed.

There is also plenty of seating for families to meet and sit while the kids play.

The Village Trust would like to remind all users that dogs are NOT allowed in the play park or on the playing fields and users must not to leave any rubbish after their visit. The play park is for the use of our children to play in a clean and safe environment.

PLAYGROUND RE-DEVELOPMENT 2020

Towards the end of 2019 the Parish Council and Village Hall Trust put together plans to re-develop the Peopleton Playground. In order to do this they applied for and successfully obtained a grant and instructed a specialist team to draw up plans for the new Play Park and in early 2020 HFN Landscapes were awarded the contract to start the re-development.

However, just before work was due to start the Coronovirus pandemic struck the world and due to restrictions enforced by the government work was delayed.

In July 2020, four months later, work finally got underway.
