There is an exhibition by an artist who lived part of her life in Worcestershire including, briefly, in Seaford, Peopleton. The Exhibition is at Verey Gallery, Eton College and lasts until 28 September.
“The painter Nora Davison (1855-1950) had strong Worcestershire roots. Her father was the curate in Bromsgrove, and Moseley (Birmingham), her paternal grandfather was the Prebendary of Worcester Cathedral, maternal grandfather was the Dean of Worcester and Vicar of Bromsgrove, and her maternal grandmother’s cousin was Sir Robert Peel the Prime Minister.
After her father died, reportedly struck by lightning, Nora and her mother moved into Seaford Grange, Peopleton in 1878, but had moved to London by 1881 – so it wasn’t a very long sojourn in Peopleton!
1913-35 she lived at Eton and she is mostly known for her famous water colours of the school.
She spent the rest of her life in Worcester.”
