Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry
Our group specializes in historical reenactment, specifically portraying the Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry. This regiment was formed in 1794 as a contingency plan in case of a French invasion, and they received cavalry training from regular officers. However, the French never invaded (except in Fishguard), so the regiment was instead utilized as a type of early police force to address civil unrest.
The Yeomanry were stationed at Eastnor Castle, where John Somers Cocks, the owner of the castle, served as their Lieutenant Colonel. I have personally portrayed Cocks for the past 20 years as a member of my reenactment unit at Eastnor.
We would be honored to attend your event at the Crown and add a touch of regal color to the coronation week.
